The kids were fascinated by the ancient cave paintings and our guide did a fantastic job explaining the history and significance of each piece. It was a truly educational and enriching experience for the whole family.

For dads, it would be great if there was a small playground or outdoor area where the kids could burn off some energy after a day of exploring.

Pros of our stay at this mind-blowing place were the stunning river views, surrounded by vineyards and fruit trees. The modern, clean rooms and spacious dining area, plus the well-designed kitchen made our stay super comfortable. The hosts were exceptionally kind and not only provided a delicious breakfast but also surprised us with a specially baked cake and a bottle of port to celebrate New Year's Eve. The location was perfect for exploring the region, with a river beach just a short walk away. The helpfulness and thoughtfulness of our hosts made us feel like we were at home in this jaw-dropping paradise.

Amazing view, private location near vineyards, river beach nearby, swimming pool with terrace, local taverna with fish.

    Absolutely nothing.

I could catch up on my fishing skills and go for a hike, all while enjoying the free WiFi. The dining area and kitchenette came in handy for my questionable culinary skills. BBQ anyone?

There was no personal helicopter service available to conveniently reach the nearest village. How inconvenient!

The location of this hotel was perfect for a Christmas getaway. It was situated in a beautiful and private area surrounded by vineyards, offering stunning views of the river bend. We also loved that there was a river beach nearby, which was perfect for a refreshing swim. the swimming pool next to the terrace of the house was a great bonus, allowing us to relax and soak up the sun.

One downside of this hotel was the difficulty in finding the entrance upon arrival. the directions provided were not clear, and we had to contact the host for assistance.

The location of this farm stay is truly breathtaking, with stunning views of the Douro River and Valley. Guests can enjoy a peaceful and tranquil atmosphere surrounded by grape vines, olive and orange trees. the rooms are comfortable and clean, and the hostess, Gilda, is welcoming and kind. the breakfast served is delicious, with homemade jams and freshly squeezed orange juice.

The locking system for the room doors can be a bit tricky, so make sure not to leave the key inside the room to avoid being locked out.

I recently stayed at Olhares Do Douro for a romantic getaway in the stunning Duoro valley. The location was perfect, situated right on the banks of the Duoro river, offering breathtaking views from both the room and balcony. The staff were incredibly friendly and made us feel at home throughout our stay. The breakfast was absolutely delicious, with a great variety of tasty options. It was the perfect base for exploring the surrounding Duoro valley and vineyards. Highly recommended!

Would be happy to recommend this hotel.

The location of the hotel was superb, surrounded by vineyards with a stunning view of the river. The nearby river beach was a great place to relax and swim. The continental breakfast provided was delicious and filling. The staff were friendly and accommodating.

The entrance to the hotel was difficult to find upon arrival and required contacting the host for directions. The language barrier with the host, who did not speak English, made communication a bit challenging.

This country getaway spot offers a peaceful and beautiful experience. The staff is friendly and accommodating, and the breakfast is delicious. The rooms are modern with comfortable beds and spacious bathrooms. You can enjoy a spectacular view of the Douro River, and free wifi is available. The location is conveniently situated near the road, making it easy to explore the surrounding area.

Some guests reported that the wifi and cell signal were weak, but overall, this is a minor inconvenience.
